Upon further consideration, having a dog park in the sensitive grassy area where I’ve seen Mule Deer, River Otter, Beaver, Ermine and many other species of wildlife enjoying a grassy sanctuary is a terrible idea!
The river trail should be off limits to dogs. We live in the middle of a National Forest for goodness sake and there are plenty of places to walk your dog without a leash!
Is it a dog park or a helipad? When we bought here we were told we had a helipad. Lie! But at one time we actually wanted to get a helipad. Guess who did six months of reasearch. Met with pilots, and all county officials. To speak to the membership at the annual meeting. But had all my work ripped from my hands and given to Brian Weigart because he was on the arc. I had all the thumbs up from my work to invest in the proper equipment necessary for landing purposes. Afterwards we were told we didn’t have a heilapd any longer. If the time comes for fire landings they will just cut down any and all foliage for safe landings. I was also going to get free asphalt from ODOT. But another good idea shot to hell. So instead of landing at the fire station.. copters could land here closer to accident scenes. Wouldn’t that have a good thing for the county. And a good mark for Wroa?
Mark, I also talked with the local Fire Department about our helipad. They said they would always respond with a surface vehicle first who could also transport the patient to a safer location while Life Flight was in route. The Lt I talked to wasn’t supportive. What does the community want to do?
We have real estate agents saying many things that aren’t true, like RV parking. Mark, were there landing lights illuminated 24/7 with the emergency use helipad? I wonder who painted “helipad” on the timber many years ago? I tried to get the location to be shown on a Pilot’s map working with my Boeing family. No can do!
Sorry I wrote a reply and forgot to post it. Too tired. That timber has been here since we looked at the property in 1999. We were led to believe It Was a Helipad. By the wroa not our realtor.
